This soil thermometer works well. This is actually the second one I’ve owned. I bought the first one to take mushroom-hunting. I purchased the second one when I lost the first one after inserting it in the ground, turning my back and then being unable to see the green top for all the undergrowth. It’s still out there.
The second one won’t be placed in service until the top has been painted red.
