I was hoping that with this product I could just stick it in the soil and it would read the pH. Well it came in the mail and I read the directions and there were all sorts of steps and requirements having to do with the soil BEFORE you could use it. I did not realize it would be more time consuming. That could just be my fault. I used it anyway on my house plants without following all the steps and I think it worked. No real indicator on it if it is reading it or not. I will try again someother time.

The first moisture meter (this was not a pH meter) I received was defective (would barely register “damp” when placed in a glass of water and didn’t budge when placed into wet dirt). I replaced it and got the same result with the second meter so sent it back for a refund.

I do not have the ability to calibrate the instrument. Given that, it is as described and very easy to use.

I used this once and got a reading of 5… i cleaned it and reused it in just plain water and got a reading of 5. Sent it back asap, this is product do not work, dont waste your time and money on it.

I’ve got this meter, and I’ve had it for 10 years or maybe more, and I leave it in the garage and subject it to dirt, cold, heat, you name it. And it still works! I’ve checked the results against other test kits, I think it is still accurate. I even bent the stick badly once, pushed it back into shape, and it still works. Amazing.
