how do you adjust your drive to make the capstan rollers tighter on the wheels

these mowers are sort after . I think they have a completely different feel from a four cycle machine. seem to cut like a sharp razor

I just got my 1972 lawnboy going again, I can’t believe the power this thing has. The grass in my lawn was two feet tall, and the lill 19″ machine just powered through it.

There used to be a Lawn Boy plant in Galesburg, Illinois.

wtf this is the most retarded thing ive ever seen… and the dude’s voice sounds like that quadrapalegic’s keyboard voice on family guy lmao.

northerbrewer October 20, 2010 at 2:46 am

Nope I’ll never buy that the D400s were much better.

@northerbrewer F series were the best. more power and just as reliable. the duraforce that came out in ’98….now that i dunno so much.

@PhilRacicot
I think it was only until the F series came out in ’78 that they used less than 32:1. F series and on used 32:1. 32 is still really heavy, I’d use a synthetic that allowed me to run 100:1, but i’d only go 80:1. Made by AMSOil. F series are the best LB engines in my opinion. Duraforces dont seem to run as long and D and C series dont seem to have as much power.

Reminds me of my father’s Lawn Boy from 1970. It lasted over 10 years with real hard use until it just finally gave up the ghost.

BaseballFreak1468 October 20, 2010 at 5:04 am

hey i’m just kinda curious to why you get offended when people compliment your voice. nice mower by the way : )

rkoduke3d October 20, 2010 at 5:13 am

i know i was looking at the batteries he’s talkin about on ebay, fuckin cheaper than the original lawnboy battery lol

EvanQuinn07 October 20, 2010 at 5:40 am

we had a LB when I was a kid, cut a lot of grass with that thing, where could I find someone to ask questions about a LB? I’d ask you, but it looks like you’re fond of blocking people, afraid I might ask the wrong question or get you on a bad day…lol

mrfanman2u October 20, 2010 at 8:19 am

I think your voice is cool. Has an electric quality to it. ;)

t3hWIT October 20, 2010 at 8:49 am

Awesome. Forty years later and you still don’t see electric start too often.
