<description>Ames did a great job with digger! It is multi function and super durable. It can get into the hardest of soil with little or no problems. The bag cutter is great and works well as a root cutter too. It has a flat end on it which allows you to pound fertilizer spikes into the soil. They even thought of adding a rope cutter to the top of the blade for cutting twine and other rope (great for tomatoes). The end of the blade has a built in weed root remover which does work. The only draw back that I have seen with this tool is that the blade is too short. If Ames could extend the blade by about an inch this would be the perfect digger!

<description>My wife is an enthusiastic gardener so after reading the review for this I thought it would make a good present. She loves it .... just about everything she needs in one tool. As we live in the NE she does the creative stuff and I get to dig the holes hence the rock gardening. It turns out that this little tool, with my heavy 4 foot steel bar, is ideal for digging out all the stones, rocks and roots I encounter. Now we fight over who gets to use it.
&lt;br /&gt;Must get another one!
